Also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year

The date for the Chinese New Year in 2015 is February 19th.The celebrations last for 15 days beginning on the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar.  

February 19th is also about the latest possible date for the Chinese New Year.Year of the Sheep, also known as the year of the Goat.

It is the yĭ-wèi (乙未) year of the Wooden Sheep and is also known as year of the Ram for some.. Yĭ the second of the ten celestial stems and wèi (the Sheep) is the eighth of the twelve branches.Completely diverse from western calendars, the Chinese calendar has names that repeat every 60 years.  The 'Stem-Branch' system is shorter cycle of 12 years denoted by animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger Rabbit, Dragon,  Snake,  HorseSheep,  Monkey, Rooster, Dog and  Pig
